July 2009 El Paso Surges with Prayer, Bible Reading
LC2C city leader Barney Field, El Paso for Jesus, had a vision for round-the-clock prayer for the city, and in June The El Paso 24/7 Prayer Vision launched with 168 intercessors from 28 churches participating. Intercessors pray in one-hour time slots from their homes or wherever they are, covering the city in non-stop prayer. Also in El Paso, in May the local LC2C initiative coordinated a "Read through the New Testament" campaign at the Mayor's Prayer Luncheon. More than 1,000 of the 1,500 present signed up on the spot to commit to read through the New Testament using a bookmark developed by Barney. The Mayor of El Paso endorsed the bookmark and encouraged those in attendance to join him.

September 2010
One of the city leaders in El Paso, Laurraine Huffman, has begun a small group for women leaders called "The Olive Branch." She is discipling women leaders and teaching them to make disciples. One of the women is head of the local Better Business Bureau and recently made a commitment to Christ. Another disciplemaking group, "12 for Jesus," meets Mondays to encourage each other and share progress.

El Paso and its sister city Juarez, across the border of Mexico, continue to be lifted up to God in prayer 24/7 through a prayer initiative launched a year ago. About 28 churches and 168 prayer partners participate. A monthly gathering of youth ministers, called UNIFY, sponsors several citywide events including the annual youth-led conference and service day.

The El Paso Mayor's Prayer Luncheon drew more than 1500 people in May. Mayor John Cook is a committed follower of Jesus, having committed his mayorship and the City of El Paso to the lordship of Jesus. The LC2C city leader in El Paso, Barney Field, meets with him weekly and pastors and intercessors meet monthly with the mayor to pray for the communities of El Paso and nearby Juarez, Mexico.

Dallas churches unite to help and heal: Churches in North Dallas, Texas, aim to uplift 25 public high-povery schools through partnerships and build 700 units of housing in West Dallas, one of the nation's poorest neighborhoods. The hope is to restore goodwill, vitality, and opportunity to this community, which has suffered from decades of neglect, racism, and injustice.

April 2010
El Paso for Jesus, a LC2C partner, has launched a new website, www.finallyfree.org, to help visitors find freedom from spiritual bondage and be healed in Christ. The site's goal is to train visitors worldwide to conduct "Finally Free!" one-hour healing sessions free of charge. Last year at the mayor's prayer luncheon, the mayor encouraged the 1,500 in attendance to read through the New Testament with him in a year. God's Gold Mine bookmarks were passed ut with a 365-day schedule for reading the New TEstament. Of those present, 1,000 committed to do it. Also, 24/7 prayer continues in El Paso.
