Initiated by Detour Ministries, a year-old nonprofit organization of lay Christians, the picnic drew volunteers from dozens of churches. All 350 churches in the area were invited to gather. Paul Cedar delivered a sermon at the event and said, "I believe God is beginning a new thing in Clark County. What God is doing here, he's doing across the nation. God is calling his people together." The local county paper, The Columbian, covered the event.

Several city leaders from Grays Harbor were able to attend Convergence, the National City Impact Roundtable, and also Accelerate 2010, the Mission America annual gathering in February. One participant stated, "It was sobering to gather together and realize the monumental task before the people of God; but my faith was stirred as we prayed together and heard the reports of what our amazing God can do when we are obedient. The stories and strategies presented at the conference will prove extremely valuable as the spiritual leaders of Grays Harbor County seek the Lord as to how He wants to bring above transformation in our community.
