THANKS for your prayers for Rhode Island!
You believed with me … God answered your prayers for Love Rhode Island to Christ.
I just returned from teaching pastors-leaders there statewide. I discovered that Rhode Island has the smallest evangelical church attendance of any state in the Union.
> The leaders said, “Never have so many Christian leaders come together in
the state of Rhode Island."
> A key leader said, “Today, October 15, 2011, will go down as a historic
day for the Church of Christ in Rhode Island."
> These leaders were so ready and said, “Show us! Tell us! We’re ready for
God to change our hearts, our churches, and our people’s hearts for
Christ!”
After our day of learning and coaching, some were so excited that they decided to launch now. Several churches will be starting Pray-Care-Share churchwide in November. Others plan to launch Phase Two of Love Rhode Island to Christ in February 2012. This was one of the most exciting training times of my life. God was clearly in it, the leaders were ready and received the message I shared as from the Lord.
Roger Williams, founder of the state of Rhode Island, also established the Baptist Church of Warwick 346 years ago. I was privileged to speak to the congregation on my last Sunday morning there. They were vibrant, responsive, and ready to take specific steps to be God’s light to their community.
