An important matter for those of us in California . . .

Dear Friends,
This is a matter I felt in my heart you all would want to know about. It’s important enough for us to read and take action . . . and then share this information with someone!
California Legislators have proposed to set a day to honor Harvey Milk – the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in a major city of the United States – for his efforts of promoting and legalizing homosexual lifestyle. If SB 572 passes, all public schools will follow to design school programs and activities to celebrate and promote homosexual lifestyles.

SB 572-Harvey Milk Day
Senator Mark Leno's bill will declare every May 22 Harvey Milk Day in California. According to the bill's sponsor, Equality California, the bill is designed to "encourage public schools and other educational institutions to participate in activities commemorating...Harvey Milk Day."
The bill language actually states that on Harvey Milk Day, school must conduct "exercises remembering the life of Harvey Milk and recognizing his accomplishments as well as the contributions he made to this state."SB 572 will be voted on by the Assembly any day now, and CRFI anticipates it will then make its way to the governor's desk. Please begin calling Governor Schwarzenegger and urge him to once again veto the governor's desk. Please begin calling Governor Schwarzenegger and urge him to once again veto Harvey Milk Day. His reasons for vetoing the same bill last year are still sound.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
The governor is waiting to hear the public's opinion before either passing or vetoing the
bill...please call in today!!!
